Gareth Bale cut a lonely figure at the back of the group as Real Madrid flew out to Canada for the first part of their pre-season tour on Tuesday.

Bale is out of favour at the Bernabeu after falling out with manager Zinedine Zidane but is determined to fight for his place.

And having so far failed to find a buyer for the Welshman, Real have been forced to include the £600,000-a-week outcast in their preparations for the new campaign.

PRE-SEASON FIXTURES

July 21 – vs Bayern Munich, ICC (1am) – NRG Stadium, Houston

July 24 – vs Arsenal (12am) – FedEx Field, Washington

July 26 – vs Atletico Madrid (11:30pm) – MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford

July 30 – vs Tottenham, Audi Cup (5pm) – Allianz Arena, Germany

July 31 – vs TBC, Audi Cup play-off/final (6pm/8:30pm) – Allianz Arena, Munich

 

Real are flying out to Montreal, where they are expected to arrive on Tuesday night.

They will base their training schedule in Canada before travelling to the United States to take part in the International Champions Cup.

They have fixtures scheduled against Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid.

Reports in Spain earlier on Tuesday claimed that Bale has been offered an escape by an unnamed Chinese club.

El Chiringuito claimed that Bale would receive an enormous £1.2m-a-week deal to play in the Far East.

But Real Madrid have rejected the offer because the Chinese club are unwilling to pay a fee beyond covering his wages
