Gay comedian says straight people are ‘boring’ and reveals why being queer is superior to heterosexuality for one surprising reason
Australian comedian and actor Josh Thomas has argued his case for why being queer is superior to traditional heterosexuality.
In an Instagram video, the Please Like Me star, 36, said that straight people are ‘boring’ and have a harder time in life because they’re often forced to follow a predetermined path.
‘Sorry to any heterosexual people watching this, but you’re boring! You are! Queer people are fun!’ he said.
‘And I think what makes queer people cool is… They’ve had to rebuke this path that everyone gets told they’re gonna be on, where they marry someone of the opposite sex, and have babies or whatever, and have this job,’ he continued.
‘And then you have to go through this quite painful process at some point, where you realize this life that everybody told you you’re gonna have is not the life that you’re gonna have,’ the entertainer explained.

‘And then, you have to go through this quite painful process of figuring out how to communicate that, how to come out.’
He went on to say that queer people are ‘much better at building lives that are better for them’ because they don’t need to conform to society’s expectations.
‘The only bad thing about being queer is sometimes straight people are mean about it, but here’s the thing: You don’t have to hang out with those people. No one’s gonna make you,’ he concluded.

The video impressed most of Josh’s followers, with one writing, ‘I love this so much. Thank you for saying this!’
Another wrote, ‘I totally agree! I’m a very boring hetero, but my son is the most awesome and interesting queer.’
Josh is best known for his ABC series Please Like Me, which he wrote and starred in.
Last year, he launched a podcast called How To Be Gay, which is about the ups and downs that queer people experience.
‘I mean, it’s definitely not made for straight people, but straight people are very welcome to listen to it,’ he told Variety.
