Gemma Collins has revealed that she’s recruited former TOWIE co-star Amy Childs as her pregnancy guru in her quest to have the baby she’s always longed for.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Gemma, 40, opened up about trying for a baby with partner Rami Hawash, detailing how they ‘report back’ to mum-of-two Amy, 31, as she guides them with their baby plans.

Meanwhile, Gemma also spoke lovingly about her ‘beautiful stepson Tristan – Rami’s three-year-old boy from a previous relationship – detailing how the tot has brought out her maternal side and that seeing him is the ‘highlight’ of her week.

Baby plans: Gemma Collins has revealed that she’s recruited former TOWIE co-star Amy Childs as her pregnancy guru in her quest to have the baby she’s always longed for

It’s been a busy time for the TV personality who, on behalf of Sainsbury’s, took part in – and won – a debate at the Oxford Union about modernising Christmas dinners.

And amid her debate victory in Oxford, Gemma opened up about her Christmas plans and hopes for the New Year; and while she personally doesn’t want anything materialistic under her tree for the big day, she’ll still longing for the day she welcomes a baby.

Sharing her upset that her dream is yet to come true, she said: ‘We’ve tried, it hasn’t happened yet. It’s a bit disappointing every month.’

However, there’s hope on the horizon in the form of her pal Amy, who though not having any specific qualifications, is helping Gemma and Rami on their quest to have a child together.

Gemma explained: ‘I was with Amy Childs at the weekend and we had a friend’s wedding and she’s like a guru at how to get pregnant.

‘She was telling me that there’s certain days in the month that you’ve got to do this. So I basically appointed her to be the head of my pregnancy.

‘She’s told Rami what days we’ve got do it on and all that. So we’re reporting back to Amy every time we do it!’

Sharing her confidence of one day welcoming a baby, she added: ‘I definitely think that the universe will come through with a child for me, definitely.’

And until that special time comes when Gemma gets to be a mum herself, she’s getting plenty of practice in with her stepson Tristan, three, whom Gemma loves as her own.

Detailing the bond she has with the youngster, she said: ‘Do you know what? I’ve got the greatest gift of all my partner gave me. I have a beautiful three-year-old stepson and have a very good relationship with his mum and it’s been so lovely that they’ve let me be a part of their lives.

‘Tristan, he’s beautiful. I love him so much. He’s the apple of my eye. With Tristan, our family are just so obsessed with him. And my nephews Hayden and Kane are so good with him, he’s like the new little baby on the scene. They just love him as much as I do and he loves them. He’s just part of our family.’

On whether Tristan has brought out her maternal side, Gemma enthused: ‘Oh definitely! Every weekend now we have Tristan and it’s the highlight of my week.

‘If I’m ever having a bit of a down day, I think I can’t wait till Friday when I get to see Tristan again. And I’ve learnt a lot as well. I was very full on with my brother’s children growing up, so I’m used to babies.’

As well as gushing about Tristan, Gemma also shared her love for beau Rami Hawash, 46, whom she rekindled her romance with earlier this year after having been engaged to him eight years ago.

‘Rami is the one for me definitely’ she explained. ‘He has brought so much to my life. It’s all about timing, I just wasn’t ready.

‘At the end of the day, Rami was the first man to put an engagement ring on my finger. I’m just so thankful we got brought back together again, I absolutely love him to death. He’s very kind to me.

‘Rami is not interested in the fame or the money, he’s got his own business. That man does not leave the house every morning without making me a cup of tea. He understands the difference between the GC and me. He’s not interested in any of that, he loves me for me you know?’

With her partner, Tristan and her family by her side, it’s little wonder that Gemma revealed that she wants absolutely ‘nothing’ for Christmas as she has ‘everything in my life that I need’ – though she wouldn’t mind folks planting trees on her behalf.

While her personal life is going swimmingly, so is her professional life, thanks to her victory in the Oxford Union debate where she successfully argued in favour of the non-traditional dinner, insisting that it’s time to ditch the turkey and trimmings for something different.

The reality star called for innovation to come to the forefront instead with Gemma arguing: ‘The nation is really is moving towards more modernised Christmas dinners and I think we should all embrace that! I’ll definitely be tucking into the Sainsbury’s Brussel Sprout and Parsnip Bhajis on Christmas Day!’

She added to MailOnline: ‘Why do you have to eat certain foods on Christmas Day? Life’s moving on. Some people want Caribbean food, some of my friends have Chinese, some have traditional.

‘At the end of the day, it states in the English dictionary under the world Traditional, that traditions evolve and move on. We shouldn’t always be struck in a stagnant place. And that’s the secret to my success, I constantly evolve.’

She added of her appearance at the Oxford Union – the world’s foremost debating society for over 200 years: ‘Has Mariah Carey been here? Has Madonna been here? No, the GC has – says it all! Because I’m always evolving, I’m down with the Gen Z baby!’

Gemma Collins has claimed victory at the Oxford Union as she wins her first ever public debate, arguing for innovative dishes to be served up this festive season on behalf of Sainsbury’s. The supermarket has launched over 300 new products to its Christmas range, with innovative twists on festive favourites such as Pigs in Blankets Sushi. Discover more at www.sainsburys.co.uk.
