Gemma Collins says she’s ditching unhealthy foods and waking up at 5am for a two-hour workout

Gemma Collins has shared an insight into her latest health kick – as she told fans she is ditching sugary foods and waking up early to commence her workouts.

The former TOWIE star, 40, proudly told her Instagram followers she was going ‘sugar free’, as she shared a video from a gruelling session on Tuesday morning.

Defiant Gemma revealed that after an indulgent party-filled summer, she is back on a fitness regime in order to boost her immune system over the winter.

Talking to the camera on her Instagram page, the reality icon said: ‘Good Morning everyone I am back on a mad fitness regime. I had a brilliant summer.’

‘But now I am going sugar free baby! The GC is gonna be sugar free.’

Explaining that she has already kicked off her sugar free diet, Gemma told her 2.2million followers: ‘You know what, for two days I’ve not had any sugar’.

‘I’m loving it, don’t get me wrong the headaches have been terrible, but its gonna be worth it’.

The reality TV favourite added: ‘I’m back on a massive fitness one guys’, telling her pals not to call her after 7pm because she will be asleep in bed. 

She added: ‘You cant get me between 5am and 7 that’s when I’m getting up in the morning doing my training. I’ll be getting my steps on in the day, I hope this motivates someone today.’

Gemma finished the video message advising her followers to look after themselves during the winter months.

She said: ‘Winters coming, we gotta keep our immune system up and drinking loads of water.’

Earlier this year Gemma wowed her fans when she revealed an Incredible 3.5 weight loss after major overhaul of her lifestyle.

Speaking of her progress earlier this year, she wrote on her Instagram page: ‘My body is becoming stronger daily it’s a great feeling.

‘I hope you have all told yourself how beautiful you all are today.’

Gemma also recently shared  that she had a wardrobe clear out as she sold off her size 26 clothes, which are now too big for her following the weight loss.

She said:  I have lost a bit of weight so it doesn’t fit anymore’.

‘I have got hundreds of hoodies, I must have a hundred pairs of jeans and so many black leggings, it’s all going, but the good news is it’s all going on my Depop.’

Speaking to New Magazine in April about her fitness regime, Gemma said: ‘I feel more confident than ever.

 ‘I don’t weigh myself every week although to be honest I did this week and I lost another half a stone. I’m on a high fat diet – it all personal though, what works for me won’t work for you.’

She went on to say that it doesn’t really matter what the scales are saying but it’s more about how you feel in yourself.

A high fat diet involves a person reducing the number of carbohydrates they consume and replacing them with healthy fats.

She continued: ‘It’s nice to be able to fit into smaller clothes but more than anything it’s nice to feel healthy.’
