Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison to join I’m a Celebrity

She’s the provocative brunette who first shot to fame on reality series Geordie Shore.

And after winning the UK version of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2015, Vicky Pattison is set to give the Australian version a shot. 

According to Sunday’s The Daily Star, the 30-year-old TV presenter will take part in the upcoming season and heads to South Africa for filming at the end of the month.

An insider revealed the news to the online publication, explaining: ‘Producers saw her on the UK show and loved her.’ 

‘They’ve never asked a contestant from the UK series before but they couldn’t resist asking her to take part because they think she’ll be brilliant,’ the source continued.

The appearance on the show – her first TV role outside her home nation – could do wonders for Vicky’s profile, who is not as widely known in Australia.

‘This is a very big deal. It will give her the chance to reach a whole new audience and prove she can be a hit outside of the UK,’ the insider added.

Vicky will reportedly receive £250,000 ($AU431,560)  to take part in the Australian reality show, according to The Daily Star.

A spokeperson for I’m A Celebrity declined to confirm Vicky’s appearance on the show, but admitted to Daily Mail Australia there would be stars from ‘all walks of life’.

 ‘Network Ten welcomes speculation on the identity of celebrities taking part in the upcoming season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ the spokesperson said.

‘Celebrities from all walks of life will go into the South African jungle in 2018, and there will be plenty of surprises this season for both the celebrities and viewers.’

Speculation is rife as to who else will jet to South Africa’s Kruger National Park to join hosts Dr Chris Brown and Julia Morris for the new season. 

Among the names that have been bandied about are Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Caitlyn Jenner, The Block winner and bikini model Elyse Knowles as well as Real Housewives’ Lisa Oldfield and comedian Glenn Robbins.

Meanwhile, tennis star Bernard Tomic was rumoured to have been offered $1 million to join the 2018 season, which Network Ten has since refuted, calling reports ‘grossly over-inflated and simply false’
