Sophie revealed she was happier and healthier than ever as she unveiled her newly-slim frame, ahead of the launch of her very own supplement range.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, the reality star admitted she had been ‘in denial’ about her weight for years – but overhauled her lifestyle and began to ‘put herself and her health first’ following her breakup from long-term beau Joel in November.

Sophie was the picture of confidence as she posed in her bikini to promote her new fitness products – proudly showing off her newly-slender figure to all.

Slipping into nothing but the pink and orange two-pieces, the brunette drew attention to her impressively petite waist and toned stomach as she beamed for the camera, clearly confident following her slim down.

Speaking to MailOnline, Sophie admitted both her breakup from Joel Corry and seeing unflattering photos of herself in a bikini had spurred her on to shed the pounds.

She explained: ‘There were pictures of me on the beach in June, and it was at that point where I I thought ‘is that actually me?’ I couldn’t believe it was me. I never thought I was that big. I was so in denial about my weight.

‘I always used to think that I was a skinny girl and in reality I wasn’t. I would try and squeeze into a size 8 dress, because I didn’t want to believe that I was a size 16.’

The Newcastle native also admitted her struggle with chafing had led her to overhaul her lifestyle, when she realised the condition was not as common as first thought.

'Is that actually me?': She said: 'I always used to think that I was a skinny girl and in reality I wasn't. I would try and squeeze into a size 8, because I didn't want to believe that I was a 16'

Sophie explained: ‘Because obviously my legs were bigger they would constantly rub together and I would have to carry talc everywhere.

‘I was getting big rashes when I was walking. I would get irritated so bad and in my head I thought ‘This is a health problem.’ But the reason was because I was bigger. I’d be looking down at my toes and I couldn’t even see my feet.’

She even posted a video to Instagram about the problem and pleaded with followers for cures – but was met by trolls who proceeded to blast her appearance.

She said: ‘The comments I got were very mixed. People were saying ‘lose weight, you chafe because you’re fat, you’re a fat b***h, get off your a*** and then you won’t have any chafing’. But there were other girls who could relate.

‘So I think the comments that I got on that were a turning point. When you’re bigger you get yourself into such a rut where you think you can’t get out. You think, ‘I’m fat now, what is the point in losing weight?”

Things got so bad for Sophie to the point she was unable to look at her reflection without finding things she hated about herself – a mindset only worsened by trolls.

‘When I was bigger I used to wake up every day, look in the mirror and start off the day with a negative comment about myself,’ she continued sadly.

‘So I’d wake up every day and go, ‘Ugh, I’m fat and I’m ugly. I’m absolutely disgusting.’ So I’d go to McDonalds and have a breakfast to make myself feel better. That was a low point.’

Comfortable: Sophie also credited her long-time romance with Joel Corry for her lack of motivation, adding: 'Maybe because I was in a relationship, I didn't really want to change'

While she confesses to sitting back and ‘accepting’ herself as fat, Sophie also credited her long-time romance with Joel Corry for her lack of motivation.

She added: ‘Maybe because I was in a relationship for all those years, I didn’t really want to change. But it wasn’t like I was happy and fat, I was obviously very low. I didn’t think there was a way out so I sort of accepted that I was that girl.’

Sophie confirmed she had parted ways with Joel, 28, back in November, after five years together.

Revealing the pair had wanted different things in life, she told MailOnline: ‘I got with Joel when I was 21 and you’re going out and partying and having fun. But I’m 28 now and I’m at that point where I’m thinking about the future.

‘Me and him just want different things. He was thinking about his business and I was thinking about settling down.’

Despite her heartache, Sophie admitted the split only made her more motivated to get in shape, as she started to prioritise herself and her health.

She said: ‘Being single now has made me more focused. It’s helped me focus on what I want.

‘Next year is about me and doing what I want to do, getting fit and taking girls’ holidays, and things like that. It’s all about putting myself first now.’

Feeling good: She said of her new lifestyle: 'Since I've been training and taking on the diet my mind-set has changed so much. Every day I'm raring to go and I feel so much more positive'

Sophie has since overhauled her lifestyle – embarking on regular exercise and a clean diet, which has not only improved her physical being but also her mental health and attitude.

The reality star revealed: ‘Since I’ve been training and taking on the diet my mind-set has changed so much. Every day I’m raring to go and I feel so much more positive.

I think ‘I’m going to do a 20-minute workout today. I’m going to meet the girls and have some nice salmon for lunch, and I’m going to have a really good day.’

‘And not only that – my mum has got depression, and around other people it’s making their day better. I’m positive. I’m high on life. It’s contagious!’

However, the brunette admitted she hasn’t cut out all her indulgences, and still treats herself to a trademark Geordie Shore night out at weekends.

Encouraging her followers to lead a balanced lifestyle, she explained: ‘The thing is I’m a Geordie girl. I can’t deny that my partying and going out has stopped – I still like to go out, even I do a few more s**t drops in the clubs, that’s exercise for me.

‘I don’t want people to think ‘I’ve got to stop, or I’ve got to deprive myself.’ You don’t need to do that, you can just swap stuff, so instead of having a doner kebab, have a chicken kebab. Instead of having a jagerbomb, have a gin.

‘You just need to change these little bits, and wake up earlier and do some cardio. Honestly things like that can change you – I lost 10 pounds in 10 days.’

After so many years considering herself the ‘fat girl’, Sophie added she hopes her new range and figure will inspire other young girls who feel insecure to make a change, in order to regain their confidence.

She said: ‘All I want to say is to girls who think they can’t do it… if I can do it, anybody can do it.’
