George and Kellyanne Conway depicted as feuding lovers in SNL’s Marriage Story parody which imagines the White House employee confronting her husband over his anti-Trump tweets during dinner

  • Saturday Night Live aired a parody of Scarlett Johansson’s movie Marriage Story which mocked the union between George and Kellyanne Conway
  • In the sketch, the couple are seen in marriage counselling after being torn apart by their opposing views on President Trump
  • However, the skit ends with the pair both feeling frisky for one another after Jerry Nadler appears on TV  to announce the articles of impeachment

Saturday Night Live has parodied Scarlett Johansson’s new movie Marriage Story with a sketch that shows a fictional Kellyanne Conway attending couples’ counselling with her husband, George.

Presented in the form of a movie trailer titled ‘A Conway Marriage Story’, the skit imagines the high-profile political couple talking through their relationship, with Johansson starring as their therapist.

In the past few years, the real George Conway has repeatedly hit out at President Donald Trump – who is wife Kellyanne’s boss – sparking speculation about the state of the couple’s marriage.

In the SNL sketch, where Kellyanne is played by Kate McKinnon and George is caricatured by Beck Bennett, the couple are required to state out loud what they like about one another.

‘She works so hard for her boss, even though I hate his guts!’ Bennett’s George drearily says.

‘What I love about George – he always leaves his coffee mugs around!’ McKinnon’s Kellyanne sarcastically states, before she is seen taking the mugs, inscribed with anti-Trump labels, and smashing them.

Another scene depicts the pair at dinner, where George gets on his phone and sends out a tweet which reads: ‘Anyone who works for Trump is a demon’.

Kellyanne then confronts George at the dinner table over the published post.

However, the skit shows the couple eventually putting aside their differences with Kellyanne’s character chirping: ‘I love that we agree on the big stuff – like small government and no food for the poors!’

The couple are then seen yelling at a homeless man before enjoying an intimate kiss.

In the following scene, the pair appear to be turned on by impeachment proceedings, seen quickly clearing off a table to get frisky after watching Jerry Nadler announce the articles of impeachment on a nearby TV screen.

The sketch ends with the couple implying they only engage in public spats for attention.

‘What you say, doesn’t leave this room,’ Johansson’s therapist announces.

‘Then why are we doing this?’ McKinnon’s Kellyanne replies.

‘We have to go fight on The View!’
