George Michael’s beloved dog Abby pines for her owner

Singer George Michael’s beloved golden labrador Abby appears to be pining for her old master at the late star’s shrine in North London.

Sat among portraits, pictures and messages left by adoring fans for the legendary popstar, the ageing pooch looks down in the dumps.

Now looked after by George’s family, it is thought that she has lost her appetite since the Faith hitmaker died at Christmas last year.

George raised adorable Abby from a pup and their bond was unbreakable, and friends of the later singer say the 11-year-old pooch has become ‘soulless’ since his death.

Abby has often been taken to his shrine on walks since the Careless Whisper songwriter died aged 53.

Fans have seen her sniffing flowers left for George as well as inspecting the cards after being let off her leash.

But the most recent time fans came over to comfort the dog who seemed visibly upset.

George got Abby as a puppy when he was with Kenny Goss in 2006.

Abby also had a sister called Meg, who died in 2015. It was reported at the time that George was inconsolable, often calling them ‘his girls’ and his ‘two best friends.’

Meg’s ashes are with the music icon at his grave in Highgate Cemetery, near the shrine.

It is understood that when Abby also dies she will be laid to rest there too.
