Georgia college student killed and teen turns himself in

A 19-year-old man who was wanted on murder charges turned himself in to Georgia police.

Khalif Wagner, 19, turned himself in in Toombs County in connection with the murder of Stevenson Derival, 20.

The killing occurred in the early hours of September 24 at a house party, reports the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Derival was shot dead at the party attended by more than 200 people.

Another man, who has not been identified, was injured in the altercation that resulted in Derival’s death.

Wagner’s 19-year-old twin brother, Khalil, is still at large. He is wanted in an aggravated assault case connected to Derival’s death.

Derival was a student at Brewton-Parker College, where he was on the track and field team.

In a statement, the college’s president, Steve Echols, said: ‘Please pray for the family of Stevenson Derival who passed away early this morning in a tragic off-campus incident.’

He added: ‘We are all shocked and broken-hearted to see a friend and student whose life held such promise to be cut short in such a devastating way.’
