Two people have died in Perth in what police believe could be a murder-suicide.
A 32-year-old woman’s body was found at home with a gunshot wound to the head in her home in South Guildford at about 10.40am on Thursday.
Within an hour of police being alerted to the incident, emergency crews were called to a unit fire in Innaloo, where her 33-year-old ex-partner’s body was discovered inside the inferno.
The two individuals have been identified as Georgia Lyall and former Rebels bikie nominee Luke Noormets.
WA Police detective inspector Dave Gorton said the investigation was in the early stages but it appears Noormets died from self-inflicted injuries.
‘We’re just trying to piece it all together,’ Inspector Gorton said.
‘Detectives have established these incidents are linked and the man and woman were known to each other,’ a West Australian Police spokesman said.
‘There are no concerns for the safety of the wider community.’
An investigation into the deaths is ongoing.
