Georgia U21 3-2 England U21: Young Lions suffer embarrassing defeat in friendly despite late fightback as Lee Carsley tastes first defeat as manager

England’s Under 21s suffered a humiliating defeat after being comfortably beaten 3-2 by Georgia in an international friendly.

The hosts raced into a 3-0 lead to leave the Young Lions stunned, before debutant and Stuttgart midfielder Clinton Mola headed home unmarked from a corner with nine minutes to play. 

Defeat is the first under the management of Lee Carsley after the former Everton midfielder took over in July.
