Germany helicopter crash kills four people

Four people have been killed after a medical helicopter crashed into a small plane near the German city of Karlsruhe today. 

It is unclear if the chopper was carrying any emergency patients when it hit the light aircraft shortly after lunchtime.

Dramatic pictures from the scene show the wreckage smoking in a field in Phillipsburg near Karlsruhe. 

Police do not know how the crash was caused but are investigating.

There were reports of flaming debris but it is unknown whether there were more casualties on the ground.
