WHAT TO DO

To improve your sense of balance and strengthen your core, try a flamingo stand, says celebrity personal trainer Nadya Fairweather (u-shape.co.uk).

Stand on one foot, with both arms outstretched to the sides.

Once you’ve found your balance, close your eyes and hold this position for 10-20 seconds. Switch feet and repeat on the other side.

For an additional challenge, try lifting the standing foot’s heel off the floor.

Hold 5-10 seconds. Repeat three times on both sides.
