New York Giants wide receiver Jawill Davis has been placed on injured reserve after getting hurt while dancing.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Davis ‘suffered a dislocated patella while dancing in the locker room.’ 

He added that while the kneecap injury is said to be ‘slight,’ the 23-year-old’s season is still over.

In seven games this season, Davis has recorded four receptions for 40 yards, made seven kickoff returns for 171 yards and 12 punt returns for 89 yards.

Earlier the in day, NJ Advance Media reported that Davis was ‘horsing around’ when he got hurt.

Rookie receiver Alonzo Russell was signed off the practice squad to replace Davis on the roster.

The Giants finish the 2018 regular season Sunday when they host the Dallas Cowboys.

This isn’t the first abnormal injury to hit professional football players. 

In 2003, former Jacksonville Jaguars punter Chris Hanson cut his right foot with an ax that head coach Jack Del Rio had placed in the locker room for motivational purposes.
