Gigi Hadid was seen for the first time since her shock split with Zayn Malik. 

The 22-year-old model was spotted leaving her apartment in New York City on Thursday just two days after announcing her split with the former One Direction member on social media.

The stunner looked unbothered as she flashed a wry smile before a busy day in the Big Apple.

 She kept her look casual in a red jacket over a burgundy knit sweater.

The older sister of Bella Hadid also wore a pair of grey checked trousers with black patent leather boots. 

She had her light tresses put up in a bun as she let her natural looks show with minimal make-up on her face.

Meanwhile Zayn, 25, has been living it up as he has been enjoying the Miami Beach sunshine while shirtless at a rented mansion the past few days. 

The former One Direction member has been mercilessly mocked for the inking of his Gigi’s eyes on his heavily tattooed chest post break-up.

The two broke up on Tuesday after more than two years together. Both the pop heartthrob and Gigi took to Twitter to confirm the news.

His post read: ‘Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend. She has such an incredible soul.

Just 11 minutes after Zayn put out his post, Gigi released her own statement on the social media site.

She wrote: ‘Breakup statements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years.. not only in the relationship, but in life in general.

The former lovebirds recently spent a lot of time apart – and were last pictured together in January – as Gigi walked the world’s runways for fashion month and Zayn jetted off to Miami to work on new music.
