Girl, 11, critically injured after falling from a moving car being driven by her mother

  • Young girl, 11, has been critically injured after she fell from a moving vehicle
  • The car was driven by her mother who is undergoing blood and alcohol tests
  • She suffered a serious head injury and facial swelling and was treated on scene 

A young girl has been critically injured after she fell from a moving car being driven by her mother. 

The 11-year-old suffered a serious head injury and facial swelling after falling from the vehicle in Berowra, north of Sydney, on Saturday morning. 

Emergency services were called to Boundary Street about 10am.

The girl was treated at the scene by paramedics and flown by a CareFlight helicopter to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. 

The girl’s mother is undergoing mandatory alcohol and blood testing. 

She is being questioned by police regarding the circumstances of the incident.   

Crash Investigation Unit officers were also called to the scene and will investigate the incident.
