Girl is reunited with doll that was lost in hurricane

When a little girl lost her favorite toy in the mad dash to flee the floods of Hurricane Harvey, she thought she would never see it again.

But thanks to her aunt and the kindness of strangers, a little girl in Texas was able to be reunited with her favorite doll – and the adorable moment was caught on tape.

A recent video posted by the Sarah Mitchell shows her niece Emiliy’s sweet reaction she received when her beloved ‘pink baby’ doll was returned to her arms, having been sent back to her by a kindhearted stranger who read about her loss online.

The clips sees Sarah sitting next to the little blonde girl with a basket in her hands, telling Emily that she has ‘something that’s really special that you have been looking for’.

She continues: ‘And it’s there, I found it for you, okay? Are you ready?’

The little girl kicks her legs excitedly as Sarah plops the basket down in her lap and helps her unwrap the blanket from around the toy inside.

‘Pink baby!’ Emily exclaims in delight as she lifts the doll out of the basket, looking at her aunt with some slight disbelief.

‘That’s your pink baby. I found her and I’ve kept her with me cleaned up. She had a bath,’ Sarah says, explaining away why the doll has a few new marks since Emily last saw her.

The six-year-old gives her doll a big squeeze and exclaims once again: ‘Pink baby!’

Another family member off screen asks if Emily is happy, which she confirms with a nod as she continues embracing her toy.

‘She had a rough time in the flood, but she is just fine,’ the woman says of the doll.

After the video began to attract some attention online, Sarah posted the detailed story behind ‘pink baby,’ explaining that the doll was given to Emily when she was just 18 months old.

‘Pink baby has been her favorite since day one. My niece turned six this week. In August we were affected by the flood of Harvey. During packing as many belongings as we could, pink baby was misplaced,’ she wrote.

‘When we were finally able to return home, we still searched with no luck. Every night my niece cries herself to sleep, missing pink baby.’

Then, some time later, Sarah posted the story of pink baby to a Facebook group where it caught the eye of a woman named Kristen.

Kristen had just happened to be in a store the day after Sarah’s post and saw the same kind of pink baby doll right there on the shelf.

Knowing how much it would mean to Emily to have her doll back, the kind woman picked up the doll, gave it a bath and sent it off to Sarah.

After returning the doll to Emily, Sarah shared the sweet moment on Facebook, writing: ‘I love this little girl so much!!’
