A seven-year-old girl in China has had dozens of tiny pieces of paper removed from her eye after school bullies shredded a workbook and stuck them into her organ of sight.

The second-grade pupil was pinned down in the classroom by two boys while another boy shoved the paper into her left eye, according to the girl’s devastated mother.

The parent said she discovered the horrifying incident after seeing paper keep coming out of her daughter’s eye in the past two months.

Dozens of tiny pieces have been removed

The girl’s mother has released footage of the child in China screaming in pain when medics examined her eye and cleared away the paper. Dozens of tiny pieces have been removed

The girl, known by her pseudonym Duo Duo, is a pupil at Dajian Primary School in the city of Yuzhou, central China’s Henan Province, according to Henan Urban Channel.

Duo Duo’s mother, known by her surname Li, has taken the girl to hospital for multiple times since September 28 to have the paper taken out, the channel said in a report yesterday.

The parent also released footage that showed her daughter screaming in pain when medics examined her eye and cleared away pieces of paper.

Ms Li said her biggest worry was that the paper could have caused damage to Duo Duo’s vision.

She was also concerned that more pieces of paper were still trapped in Duo Duo’s eye socket.

Doctors were unable to confirm if all of the paper had been removed, said the mother.

The school’s headmaster, known by his surname Wang, said no teachers were present when the incident took place.

He told the reporter that the boys had only shredded a small corner of the workbook before sticking them into Duo Duo.

He also claimed that the boys had chosen the girl randomly for the attack.

The local authorities claimed the four children were just ‘playing’ after investigating the incident.

The Yuzhou Education and Sports Bureau ordered the headmaster and Duo Duo’s class teacher to reflect upon the incident and write reports of self-criticism.

It also ordered the school to arrange psychological counselling for the victim and criticise the attackers.
