Girl, 17, is stabbed to death ‘by 21-year-old man she knew’ at a home in south London

- Her next of kin has been made aware of the girl’s death
A 17-year-old girl has died following a stabbing in south London, Scotland Yard has said.
Officers were called to a home in Brisbane Street in Camberwell, Southwark, at 12.16pm today (Thursday) to reports of a stabbing.
London Ambulance Service and the air ambulance were also called, but, despite their best efforts, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene at 13.02, a spokeswoman said for the Metropolitan Police said.

Her next of kin has been made aware of the girl’s death.
A 21-year-old man, who was known to the girl, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody at a south London police station.
Police said that a crime scene is in place at the address, but there are no road closures.
A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
The Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command has been notified, and enquiries continue.
