Girl, three, is in a serious condition in hospital after she and her brother, seven, fell into a lake at a caravan park during the Easter holidays

  • Emergency services rushed to Waterside Leisure Park in Lincolnshire yesterday 
  • The girl is stable and being treated in Nottingham Queen’s Medical Centre 
  • The seven-year-old brother was taken to hospital but suffered no serious injuries 

A three-year-old girl in a serious condition in hospital after she and her seven-year-old brother fell into a lake at a caravan resort.

Emergency services swooped in on the Waterside Leisure Park in Ingoldmells, Lincolnshire, just after 5.30pm yesterday to airlift the child to Nottingham Queen’s Medical Centre. 

She is now receiving specialist care for her injuries but is reportedly in a stable condition.

The seven-year-old brother was also taken to hospital for checks but suffered no serious injuries. 

Along with fire and air ambulance crews, the police were also at the scene and are now working with the childrens’ family to understand what happened.

They are also urging any witnesses or people with information to come forward

A police spokesperson said: ‘Police were made aware at 17.26 last night following an incident whereby a three-year old child and their seven-year-old brother fell into water at the Waterside Leisure Park, Anchor Lane in Ingoldmells.

‘One of the children (a three-year-old) is receiving specialist care at QMC and is stable.

‘Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident.

‘We continue to work closely with the family and the site to understand how this incident has occurred.

‘If you have any information, please contact 101 quoting incident 334 of April 10.’
