The Virginia Commonwealth University student nailed down a specific set of cosmetics that she uses daily to maintain her clear complexion that are both surprisingly simple and super cheap.

While Aleksandra found products that worked well for her skin that she uses every day, there is no particular skincare regimen that she follows.

The main product that Aleks swears by and even said, ‘changed her life,’ is the $9 Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay which she uses as a face mask when combined with other natural ingredients.

Made from 100 per cent bentonite clay, the healing mask should be mixed with apple cider vinegar which Aleks says gives off a ‘rank smell’ when combined with each other.

‘No mask will show results like these,’ she said about the clay, adding that it is also, ‘fast acting and so cheap for what it does’.

Aleks gushed about the Aztec clay saying she was, ‘ASTONISHED’ after she used it and so were all of her friends.

‘All my friends that have used it too for the first time in front of me, tell me they feel a “popping” feeling on their face because the mask goes down so deep into the skin.’

The results from the clay mask are amazing as Aleks explains your skin will be soft and tight after using it.

She also shared that the clay gives off a natural glow while your pores get smaller and your acne heals.

Five products: Bentonite clay, witch hazel, tea tree oil, rosewater and a facial steamer all helped to clear her skin of blemishes

Even better, Aleks went so far to say that wrinkles immediately reduce after using the clay mask, but warned: ‘Be cautious on sensitive skin.’

For an at-home spa you don’t have to break the bank as Aleks shared the $29 Bueno Nano Ionic Facial Steamer which she explained is small but works well and is easy to use.

After using the steamer, she said blackheads noticeably disappear after more uses because it helps open up the pores.

She also revealed that the best times to use the tool are after your makeup is taken off and before applying a face mask.

The steamer treats dry skin and she suggests putting your face under the steamer for 15 seconds which will secure your makeup for the entire day.

When it comes to treatment she uses Majestic Pure Tea Tree Essential Oil ($15) but warns that if you have sensitive skin you shouldn’t use it.

She also advised that it should not to be used on the entire face otherwise it will completely dry out your skin.

Since the oil is very concentrated, she suggests dabbing a little bit on problem areas every other day for best results.

The best part about this treatment is that it works overnight and Aleks said, ‘It usually soothes active acne by the next morning if it’s applied before bed.’

Two other products she trusts are the $9 Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel and the $12 Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe Herbs and Rosewater.

Some bits of advice: Other advice she gave was to wash your pillowcases three times a week and never wash harshly in the morning because it, 'eliminates the pH balancing oils'

Aleks uses the witch hazel as a toner and notes, ‘If your skin feels dirty throughout the day, the alcohol-free toner will refresh and hydrate.’

As for the facial spray, she says it’s fairly natural and an added bonus is that the ‘sweet rose smell lingers’.

The rosewater can be used as a primer as well as a setting spray and Aleks admits, ‘It’s a very basic and easy product to maintain healthy skin.’

She shared a disclaimer about skincare saying, ‘Remember skin needs a break.

‘Only clean with harsh products minimally so the natural oil your skin produces has a chance at balancing the pH.’

Some tips she had to offer include washing your pillowcases three times a week and: ‘Never wash harshly in the morning because it eliminates the pH balancing oils and causes aging.’

Aside from these five products and tips, Aleksandra was able to completely rid her skin of blemishes by following a healthy lifestyle.

Aleks said the key to clear skin is health and urged everyone to, ‘Stay hydrated, eat well and don’t be too hard on yourselves.’

‘You’re a beautiful person born in beautiful skin completely unique to yourself,’ she gushed.

‘Healthy minds and bodies = happy skin. I hope this benefits someone as much as it did me,’ she said in regard to her skincare tips.
