A woman revealed the elaborate shopping list she created for her boyfriend to help him do the groceries. 

TikTok user Steff, from Canada, explained she gave her boyfriend, who was not named, as much detail as possible in order to avoid him phoning her from the store with a list of questions. 

The detailed list contained four columns with information on product names, quantities and additional tips like how to identify the perfect ‘plump’ corn or the best parsley. She also included photographs of some items to help avoid confusion.

Steff, who posts under the handle @steffarronii, shared the video with the caption: ‘When you give up control and let your boyfriend do the groceries once.’ 

The hilarious clip struck a chord with users who praised Steff for her organisation. It has been viewed more than 1.5million times and received 235,000 ‘likes’. 

One commented: ‘This is my sort of organization!’ Another added: ‘I should really do this! My boyfriend called me nine times last time he went for groceries.’

A third wrote: ‘OMG I have to do this too essentially. We now shop online and it’s become much easier.’

Steff later shared an update to give fans her 13-step guide on how to create a similar list for themselves. 

She said it is for ‘all the Monicas’, referencing Courtney Cox’s famously organized character on friends. 

The in depth guide advises starting with a two-week meal plan and includes steps like three kitchen walk-throughs and writing the list based on how you would walk through the grocery store to save time once inside.
