Gisele Bundchen reveals son has been bullying over decision not to play football like dad Tom Brady

Gisele Bundchen revealed her 13-year-old son Benjamin endured bullying in Boston for not wanting to follow his father Tom Brady’s footsteps on the football field.

While his older brother, Jack, whose mother is Bridget Moynahan, has already begun quarterbacking for his high school football team, the model, 42, told Vanity Fair that her teen prefers ‘non-ball’ sports, like surfing, jujitsu and skiing as well as drawing on his iPad.

She went on to remark about how tough placing the ‘athletic pressure of being’ the offspring of one of the greatest NFL player of all-time on a child.

The Brazilian beauty then vaguely reference ‘one particular’ bullying incident that occurred after one of Benjamin’s baseball game.

Bundchen did not go into any further details, but her former spouse previously spoke about how his firstborn Jack ‘loves sports’ while Benny ‘likes different things.’

‘[Jack] wants to try hard, and he never wants to disappoint his dad,’ Brady told Men’s Health in 2019.

He continued: ‘I’d wake up early on the weekends to do stuff with my dad. That’s why I didn’t party a lot. If Dad wanted to golf, I wanted to be there with him. And if I ever missed those things, it would crush me.’

Despite initially assuming that his Benjamin ‘would be just like Jack’ and want to play football at his alma mater, the University of Michigan, Brady had to come to terms that he was simply not interested.

After trying to push him into playing, Brady said Gisele told him, ‘Would you effing understand that your son is different?’

‘It was hard for me. I was like, ‘What do you mean? He’s a boy; he should do all these things that I do,’ he recalled of his reaction.

The father-of-three concluded: ‘The reality is that Benny just likes different things. And it’s great because now I just have to go do what he wants to do. When we do that, we have the best time.’

Brady and Bundchen initially met in the mid-2000s and began dating in 2007.

They were engaged by January 2009 and just one month later they tied the knot.

After over a decade of being one of Hollywood’s power couples, rumors began to circulate that the pair were having marriage problems.

After months of speculation and Brady’s shock decision to un-retire from football for one last season with the Buccaneers, Bundchen filed for divorce in October.

Brady retired from football for the second time earlier this month.

The supermodel spoke about her concerns regarding her ex-husband’s NFL career during an interview with Elle that was published in September.

During the sit-down, the fashion industry figure stated: ‘This is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present.’

However, she expressed that she wanted her kids to respect their father and his decisions.

‘Seeing my children succeed and become the beautiful little humans that they are, seeing him succeed, and being fulfilled in his career—it makes me happy.’

The former athlete opened up about coparenting with his former wife during an episode of his Let’s Go! podcast, where he remarked that he was mainly focused on the well-being of his kids.

‘Obviously, the good news is it’s a very amicable situation and I’m really focused on two things, taking care of my family and certainly my children,’ he said.

Brady added: ‘We all have our unique challenges in life. We’re all humans. We do the best we could do…I want to be a great father to my children and always try to do things the right way as well.’

Bundchen has been taking life as a single woman by the horns and has sparked relationship rumors with jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente and billionaire developer Jeffrey Soffer.
