This is the heart-melting moment a Glastonbury festival-goer is brought to her knees with emotion after her boyfriend proposed to her during Kylie Minogue’s set.

Joe Blain, 29, popped the question to his 27-year-old girlfriend Sarah Adams in the field in front of the pyramid stage on Sunday.

The supermarket manager arranged for an airplane to fly over the Worthy Farm site in Somerset streaming a banner which read ‘Sarah Adams Marry Me? Joe’.

After realising that the message was meant for her, Sarah, a strategic land planner from Malvern, Worcestershire, breaks down in sobs and hugs her husband-to-be.

The strategic land planner from Malvern, Worcestershire, said: ‘I’m still quite overwhelmed. I didn’t expect it, it was a complete shock.

‘I’m surprised how he did it all on his own and that I had no idea at all. I fell to the floor because I was so overcome with emotion.’

The video shows Sarah and Joe among the crowd of music lovers screaming during Kylie’s performance.

It then cuts to a shot of the airplane soaring overhead, with Joe’s proposal message tailing behind.

At first, Sarah does not realise that it is meant for her, but on closer inspection, the marriage offer dawns on her and she is left stunned.

She turns to face Joe, who is down on one knee and holding out a ring in one hand and a drink in the other while their group of friends cheer.

Sarah drops to her knees and buries her face in her hands before rushing over to embrace her new fiance.

Joe, who has been going out with Sarah for four years, had planned the surprise proposal with the help of some friends who they were also attending the festival with.

Despite the intricacies involved, Joe said the epic stunt was easier to plan than he’d thought.

He said: ‘I’ll be honest, it was pretty straightforward. A friend of a friend is a pilot and I asked him about flying a banner over the festival.

‘He organised the time slot and cleared the flight plan. All I had to do was make sure Sarah was in front of the pyramid stage at a certain time.

‘All the people we went with were in on it. We came up with a code word ‘back stronger’ in case we saw the plane.’

Joe said that in order for the plan to work, he and Sarah along with their group had to be in front of the stage between 3.45pm and 4pm during Kylie Minogue set.

He said: ‘At one point I thought we were going to miss it as she was the other side of the stage about half-an-hour before. Eventually, we got to the front.

‘My brother spotted the plane first and then I pointed it out to Sarah when it passed the pyramid stage. She started reading it and while she did I went down on one knee and then my friend tapped her on the shoulder and she saw me with the ring.

‘Thankfully she said yes.’

Visibly shocked, Sarah fell to the ground before hugging her husband-to-be.

The couple have said they plan to marry in the next two years and are possibly even considering a Glasto-themed ceremony.

Sarah said: ‘We’d love to get married near the festival site or maybe have a festival theme.

‘But before we start planning anything I need to get over the shock.’
