GMB’s Laura Tobin insults Charlotte Hawkins in awkward moment

Laura Tobin jokingly insulted host Charlotte Hawkins live on air in an awkward moment on Tuesday’s episode of Good Morning Britain.

The meteorologist, 40, quipped she would buy Charlotte, 46, ‘something to improve her face’ as she went Christmas shopping in west London. 

Laura was presenting the weather outside a shopping centre, when she told Charlotte she hadn’t started her Christmas shopping.  

She said: ‘You know, I’ve spoken to so many people who have already done their Christmas shopping, and I haven’t done any yet, I refuse to! But I’m close enough here.’

Shocked at her confession, Charlotte asked her: ‘Bring me back something nice!’

But Laura replied: ‘OK I shall. I shall work on something to improve your face.’

Her co-star let out a huge gasp at the retort and shook her head as she jokingly snapped: ‘You’re in so much trouble!’

Charlotte disappeared from the screen and viewers saw Laura cringe as she realised her mistake, adding: ‘What is she going to do to me?’ 

It comes after last month Laura wowed as she slipped into a figure hugging black mini dress for her 40th birthday celebrations. 

She said: ‘You know, I’ve spoken to so many people who have already done their Christmas shopping, and I haven’t done any yet, I refuse to! But I’m close enough here.’

The meteorologist put her slender pins on display in the ensemble while posing up a storm in the mirror for a selfie. 

She elongated her legs by wearing gold heeled sandals and accessorised further with jazzy earrings. 

Her brunette locks were swept back into an elegant high ponytail which fell over her shoulder in waves.

She looked as if she was having a whale of a time at the do as she posed in front of a light up ’40’ before busting moves on the dance floor. 

Laura’s make up was done flawlessly with a wash of foundation and dark eyeshadow.  

The television star had early birthday celebrations on air the day before, which left viewers in disbelief of her age. 

Chris Tarrant, who is celebrating his 75th birthday this weekend, appeared via videolink on the show to wish her a happy birthday before tucking into a cake with her face on it.   

The pair shared some witty banter before the presenter savagely tucked into the cake, taking the meteorologist’s face first. 

Chris exclaimed: ‘Laura you’re so tasty!’ and then she laughed: ‘It’s really weird Chris Tarrant is licking me off his fingers.’ 

The morning show wrote on Twitter to give some context to the clip of them chatting: ‘After Laura expressed her annoyance at team GMB wishing Chris Tarrant happy birthday on the show back in 2019, we thought we’d make sure today was all about her…’  

Two years ago, a prank was played on Laura when Ben Shepard and Susanna Reid wished Chris a happy birthday instead of her.
