  • Walkers at Little Beach, Albany,  were shocked to find snake eating a goanna
  • The dugite snake is incredibly venomous and potentially lethal to humans

This luckless goanna met with a grisly end after it was demolished by a hungry snake on a beach in Western Australia.   

Two shocked residents were walking along Little Beach, in Albany, when they saw the dugite snake devouring the fellow reptile.   

The snake belongs to a species of venomous and potentially lethal snake family Elapidae, which are native to Western Australia.

Two friends, Holly King and Sinead Hart, spotted the snake with its lunch during their morning walk on Sunday. 

‘Holly and I were on our morning walk when we saw it,’ Ms Hart told the Albany Advertiser. 

‘It already had the lizard in its mouth once we got a picture.

‘We kept walking and it was gone by the time we got back.’

The image was widely shared social media on Tuesday.
