An urgent amber alert has been issued for an 11-month-old boy taken from a home on Saturday afternoon who police fear is at ‘significant risk’.

Police said a man was seen taking the boy from a home on Como Crescent at Southport on the Gold Coast about 5.15pm and putting him into a grey Mazda CX9.

A woman was allegedly assaulted at the address.

The boy is described as Caucasian with dark hair and wearing a light grey jumpsuit. 

Police said the man’s appearance is that of a Pacific Islander and he is 180cm tall and of a solid build.

He was last seen wearing grey shorts and a yellow Los Angeles Lakers singlet. 

The car is a grey Mazda CX9 with Queensland registration 103 YZT and last seen heading westbound on Smith Street near Kumbari Avenue around 5.30pm.
