Gold Coast schoolboy killed in horror p-plater crash

  • Jasey Grant was sitting behind the driver of a Mitsubishi Lancer sedan
  • The car collided with a Toyota Utility carrying a woman and her two children
  • Jasey died at the crash and is being remembered as a ‘great musician’

A young talented musician has been killed after the car he was travelling in crashed with a ute on the Gold Coast.  

Jasey Grant was sitting behind the driver of the Mitsubishi Lancer sedan when it collided with a Toyota Utility driven by a woman who had her two children in the back. 

Police say both vehicles were travelling at high speeds when the crash happened. 

Friends and family of Jasey have taken to social media to pay tribute to the talented musician.

‘My baby boy was the most talented musician,’ his mum, Erryn Grant, told The Courier-Mail.

One person wrote: ‘I’m going to miss you Jase, you’ll always have a special place in my heart.

‘You were one of my best mates that I’ve known for what feels like forever, rest in peace.’

On May 20 at 3.30pm Jasey was in a car travelling on  Tamborine Oxenford Road.

He died at the scene and the 17-year-old driver of the car was taken Gold Coast University Hospital with critical injuries

Jasey had recently moved to the Gold Coast from Ulladullah, a small coastal town in New South Wales

Police said in a statement: ‘The other two passengers of the sedan and all three occupants of the utility sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for precautionary checks.’
