He has been axed in the wake of crisis meetings last week following reports of a rift between him and Titans star fullback Jarryd Hayne, who is on a $1.2 million seasonal contract.

Henry had a year remaining on his contract but has endured a difficult season as his team dropped out of finals contention.

He has denied falling out with Hayne but the pair were called to front the Titans hierarchy last week ahead of an emergency board meeting which deferred any decision until this week.

There were also reports that others in the playing group were unhappy with Henry’s coaching and selections and young stars Ash Roberts and Kane Elgey would not sign new contracts with the Titans if he remained.

However senior players including captain Ryan James and Kiwi international Kevin Proctor have insisted the playing group remained behind Henry and any differences could be sorted out.
