Goldfish bowl lands upside down trapping the water and pet inside

  • Fishbowl which was knocked over landed perfectly upside-down with fish inside
  • Only a tiny bit of the pink gravel and tiny splash of water tipped out of the bowl
  • Picture was shared on Reddit and has since been liked more than 54,000 times

This is the lucky moment a goldfish survived a near-certain death after its bowl was knocked off the side of a dresser – but landed perfectly upside down.

The amazing photograph was shared on Reddit, with the user claiming their cat had pushed the bowl off the side and onto the floor.

But the uploader, who goes by the name of slowf3, said the majority of the water remained in the bowl and the fish continued to swim.

The pink gravel at the bottom of the bowl and a tiny bit of the water had tipped out of the bowl but the water – along with the fish – remained inside the bowl.

The post, captioned ‘The cat knocked my daughter’s fish bowl off the dresser’, has been liked more than 54,000 times and has amassed more than 1,600 comments on Reddit.

People on Reddit were quick to cast doubt over whether the bowl had been spilt or whether it had been staged.

One user wrote: ‘This is so far from “less than flawless…”‘

Many of the users were concerned about the wellbeing of the fish following the accident.

Another added: ‘Why would someone even have an open fish tank when they own a cat?’

One said: ‘For a lot of people fish aren’t a pet, they’re a talking piece or just an accent to a room… they don’t care at all how the fish is feeling, just how it looks.’

‘This is why I don’t own fish they’re too much work’, one said.

Lionmom said: ‘I’m surprised that the pet store is even allowed to sell fish to be placed like that.’

It is not known how or if the fish bowl was flipped back to its original position or if the fish survived the ordeal.
