GMB viewers delight at seeing Bill Turnbull and Susanna Reid reunited as he stands in for Piers Morgan – six years after they were last together on BBC breakfast sofa

Good Morning Britain viewers could not contain their excitement this morning after seeing Bill Turnbull reunited with Susanna Reid after six years.
Mr Turnbull, 64, and Ms Reid, 49, launched the BBC Breakfast show when it moved to Media City in Salford and worked on it together until 2014 when she left for ITV.
The 64-year-old, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2017, is filling in for regular host Piers Morgan while he takes some time off.
The pair hugged on screen this morning after being reunited after six years.
He said on the programme: ‘I can’t believe this is really happening, it’s so exciting. I feel like I’m coming home.’
Ms Reid made jokes about his full head of hair before others piped up with their own quips. Viewers commenting on social media were delighted to see the pair back together.

Susanna and Bill first presented BBC Breakfast in 2006. He left in 2016 after Susanna swapped the BBC for ITV’s morning show in 2014.
Mr Turnbull, who quit the show in 2016, has been fighting prostate cancer and now works on Classic FM. This move marks his return to live TV, but only for ‘the short term’.
He and Susanna did briefly reunite in 2016 when visited the ITV studio for a chat before being interrupted by Piers who described him as ‘overrated’.
