‘Good, not great’: Conor McGregor plays down the career of retired rival Khabib Nurmagomedov as he criticises him for never moving weight classes and pulling out of fights

Conor McGr4egor does not believe Khabib Nurmagoemdov deserves his reputation as one of the greatest fighters of all time.
The Russian retired following his win over Justin Gaethje last year, ending his career with a perfect record of 29-0.
Most consider him to be one of, if not the best to ever compete in the sport but old rival McGregor doesn’t.
When McGregor was asked if he felt Khabib was just a ‘good’ fighter, the Irishman replied: ‘Yes, good, not great.’
‘Low KO rate,’ McGregor continued. ‘Can’t kick whatsoever. Never moved up in weight class despite almost dying trying to make weight. Pulled out of fights multiple times. Retired early.
‘All of which lead him to a good fighter, not great. He’d a good few months, that’s it.’
Khabib bested McGregor when they met in 2018 in what remains the biggest selling pay-per-view of all time.
The Dagestani grappler dominated on the night and secured the submission in round four.
