Google searches for the heights of Presidential hopefuls surged just before the start of CNN’S second Democratic debate in Detroit on Wednesday night. 

As the ten candidates stood side-by-side singing the national anthem, viewers took to their smartphones querying their specific statures. 

According to Google Trends, Bill de Blasio’s height was the most searched across the country  – perhaps no coincidence given that the New York Mayor is the tallest of the 2020 contenders. 

At 6ft 5 in, the 58-year-old stands a full three inches above the second-tallest candidate – Cory Booker.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden was the third tallest candidate on stage – and also the third most Googled in relation to his height. 

The former Vice President measures exactly 6 foot – although he may have been feeling a little smaller at the end of the night, having weathered attacks from a great number of his opponents during the debate. 

Meanwhile, former Housing and Urban Development  Secretary Julian Castro came in fourth place. 

The exact height of the Texas native has not officially been revealed – although he is thought to be around 5ft 8in.

Meanwhile, Google Trends also revealed that Tulsi Gabbard was the most searched for candidate across all 50 states during the debate. 

The 38-year-old Congresswoman from Hawaii garnered attention for her withering attacks on Kamala Harris for her record as Attorney General of California. 

Gabbard, who is currently polling at around 1%, has little name recognition, but attracted the attention of viewers across the country who used their smartphones to find out more.
