He eventually finds a spot in the fence where he can get back to the rest of his gorilla friends without getting an electric shock

After he’s had his fun greeting the visitors, the curious monkey tries to work out the best way to get back through the fence to be reunited with the rest of the gorillas.

He can be seen rocking on his back feet and testing the gap between the links of the fence with his hand.

The person who filmed the video is a keen animal watcher and believed the gorilla was just trying to ‘say hello to the visitors’.

They added: ‘This gorilla is just incredible. He managed to get through the other side of the electric fence and then looks for a good spot to get back to the rest of the gorilla group.

‘The Western Lowland gorilla starts to contemplate how to get back to the other side of the electric fence to the rest of the group.

‘Watch closely how he tries to judge the electric fence gap by rocking on his feet and judging with his hands.

‘Not quite sure how he gets through the gap, he moves to the other side where he came from.

‘There he manages to get through without a problem.’
