It’s happy news for the Monaco royal family as Charlotte Casiraghi is expecting her third child, reports have claimed.
The daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco, 36, has a son Raphaël, eight, who she shares with her ex-boyfriend, Gad Elmaleh, and welcomed his brother Balthazaar, four, with her husband Dmitri in October 2018.
According to French publication Voici, the niece of Prince Albert is expected to give birth later this year.
The royal mother-of-two recently described the ‘liberating’ nature of her relationship with her mother ever since having children of her own, explaining that it opened up an opportunity to get ‘feel closer’.

Charlotte reportedly met Dimitri, a film producer, in Paris shortly after the breakdown of her relationship with Italian filmmaker Gad Elmaleh, with whom she has a eight-year-old son, Raphaël.
Rumours of a romance between Charlotte and Dimitri first started swirling in early 2017.
One of their first public appearances together was at the civil marriage ceremony of Charlotte’s half brother, Prince Christian of Hanover, and his wife, Alessandra de Osma, in London in November 2017.
In November, she told Town & Country Magazine that parenthood has unleashed a ‘transmission of the maternal link’.

‘Of course, you have more empathy and you understand more things,’ the 36-year-old told the outlet.
‘When you become a mother there is the fact that your mother accepts that she’s not the only one who’s a mother.’
The niece of Prince Albert of Monaco added: ‘A lot of women feel that they have that power as well, to give life, and it’s not something that they just owe to their mother.’
Charlotte added that motherhood is ‘hard to sum up’, saying: ‘I think every day has hard and amazing moments’.

‘Every day you go through moments when you worry for your children or when they exhaust you, and then you go through moments when you share so much with them and you don’t even question the fact that they’re the most important thing in your life.’
Touching more on the ‘complex’ relationships between mothers and daughters, she explained that she tries not to speak about the ‘very private’ relationship with hers.
‘I don’t necessarily want to reveal everything that’s going on between us, but it’s always ambivalent,’ she said. ‘I feel that even when you have your own kids, you’re still struggling to have your own space.’
Charlotte is the second child of Princess Caroline of Hanover and the late Italian businessman Stefano Casiraghi, who died in 1990.
