Huai’an police reviewed the footage and found Ms Zhu three days after the incident.

Ms Zhu explained that she had just sent her children to school and had not put her husky on a leash.

‘The dog jumped off my scooter while I was driving. Later I noticed it knocked down another scooter at the junction,’ she told officer Song Lijun.

She agreed to compensate 33,200 yuan (£3,900) to Mr Ma.
