A grandmother has suffered horrific bite marks to her back and arms after a Staffordshire Terrier attacked her and her dog.

Barbara Verstandig, 63, and her eight-year-old granddaughter were out walking their dog Daisy along the water at Deception Bay in Brisbane when the staffy came charging toward them.

Ms Verstandig scooped Daisy up as the dog attacked her and tried to pull her pet out of her arms.

‘I just picked Daisy up and then held her as hard as I could but this dog was trying to drag Daisy out of my arms,’ she told Nine News.

‘Then I felt the dog bite me, I felt the dog bite me on my back.’

Ms Verstandig was rushed to hospital where she treated for the deep dog bites.

Her dog Daisy was also rushed to the vet after suffering bites from the staffy.

The staffy was later found wandering the streets and the owners agreed to put him down.

Staffy’s are known to be human-oriented and loyal, but they can be aggressive to other dogs.
