A desperate search is underway for an autistic teenager who went missing in dense bushland.
William Callaghan, 14, was last seen on the south summit of Mount Disappointment, 80km north of Melbourne, at about 2.20pm on Monday.
Police said William somehow became separated from his family and their search was made even more difficult because he is non-verbal.

The teenager disappeared without any food, water or warm clothes to endure the overnight temperatures.
The Police Airwing, Search and Rescue Squad, Dog Squad, local uniform members in 4WD’s and police on bikes are all out desperately searching for the boy.
They are being supported by the State Emergency Services in their search.
Anyone who sees William is urged to call Triple Zero immediately.
