The boat tour company, RedBoats.com.au, shared the incredible video to Facebook yesterday despite the vision being captured last year.

‘How graceful is this great white shark!’ they wrote online.

‘No threatening behaviour at all.

‘Truly a rare encounter, envied by many.’

The video shows the huge shark swimming over the diver who rested near a floor of seaweed.

The great white then watched the diver as it slowly swam around the diver before continuing on its way.

More than 115,000 people have viewed the video in less than 24 hours, many commenting about the ‘beautiful’ but ‘scary’ encounter.

‘See harmless, just sit on the bottom and it’s all smiles’ one person wrote.

‘I’d be breathing heavier than this bloke,’ another said.

‘This is truly incredible,’ one other commented.

‘Looks like he was checking him out.’

While there was one reported and unprovoked shark attack in Victoria last year, there have been none this year according to Toronga Zoo data.

Only one of the shark attacks last year was fatal.
