CCTV footage released by NSW police shows one man emerge from a black Toyota Camry and another gets out of a black Mazda 3 before shaking hands.

The two then open the boot of the Mazda as a gunman is seen walking towards the pair, checking his weapon, and then running to their location.

A passenger jumps out of the car before the driver accelerates towards the hooded gunman, who then shoots in the direction of the vehicle.

The armed man then returns to the Camry as another man in a purple singlet is seen gesturing on nearby Highview St.

A Hyundai Veloster was seen to speed past a security camera at another home and pick up the man.

After the incident, a woman wearing a black singlet and black pants wanders down the road.

Officers found damage consistent with bullets being fired at the vehicle, empty bullet casings and damage to a fence.

Police believe three shots were fired at the Mazda 3 while a four-month-old baby was inside, during an allegedly illegal transaction.

Investigators allege that the transaction was happening in the cul-de-sac between two males before being ambushed by the gunman.

Police declared a crime scene and searched for clues, as the State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad conducted its investigation under Strike Force Terrol.

‘Police believe there were two females and four males involved in the transaction, who could have links to Organised Criminal Networks (OCN),’ NSW Police said

The shooter allegedly then fled the scene in a black Toyota Camry, before getting into a grey Hyundai Veloster near Bankstown.

Anyone with dashcam video of the incident has been urged to come forward.
