The two-time Open Championship winner appeared on Today on Wednesday morning talking about his plans to move back to Australia and lamented the ongoing lockdowns for his compatriots at home.
‘It saddens me Australia is going through another lockdown. It’s got to be hamstringing businesses, it’s hurting people, it’s tough,’ he told the show from his Florida home.
Norman also addressed the famous pictures of him in the nude which have become things of legend on social media, saying he’s simply a ‘very natural person’
Norman joked about helping get Karl in shape to help him take naked photos of his own after the 66-year-old became a social media star for his risque flicks
The golfing legend, who spent 331 weeks as the world’s no.1 golfer, said things are in motion to move his life and businesses back home within ‘four or five years’.
‘I’ve got a few things to wrap up. I’m definitely heading back Down Under,’ he said on Wednesday morning.
‘I’ve always wanted to go home and I’ve been very vocal I want to be buried in my home country or my ashes spread in my home country,’ he said.
‘That’s a bit grim,’ Karl Stefanovic replied laughing. ‘The Great White Shark wants to come home to die.’
The 66-year-old says he had to base himself in the United States for his business interests but admitted he’s been desperate to get home.
‘I miss the people, I miss the produce, I miss the coffee, I miss the sounds, I miss the smells,’ he said of Australia.
‘There’s so much more I want to do back home, I’ve missed Australia but I couldn’t stay there and do what I’ve done in my business career.’

He then propositioned Karl to come and join him in the US and get the Today host into shape so he could take naked photos himself.
‘Come over here you’ll work out with me for six week, I’ve got a pair of blue shorts for you I wore on the beach,’ Norman said in reference to the famous photo showing his endowment.
‘I might need some surgery,’ Karl replied.’
