The picture was unveiled during a segment on high school formals during Channel Nine’s morning show on Thursday.
Discussing the embarrassing snap, David said: ‘That’s in my grandmother’s front lawn, where I used to live.
‘Nothing works right there. The mullet’s great… the jacket, I thought I was in Miami Vice. No-one was wearing ties back then!’ he joked.
‘You had to wear this country bumpkin shirt, and the pants I just found probably the hobo on the street… probably rolled a drifter for those pants,’ he added.

Today, David is happily married to wife Lisa Hewitt, and the couple share three children: Leo, William and Elizabeth.
The couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in St Peter’s Church in Sydney in 2008.
Guests included David’s famous father, rocker Jimmy Barnes, as well as TV actress Magda Szubanski, who originally introduced the couple.
