A peak-hour confrontation between group of men turned violent when a motorist allegedly pulled a gun on another driver.

CityLink drivers were forced to swerve to avoid collision as a motorist fleeing in a white Nissan Skyline travelled through the Burnley tunnel the wrong way.

When the car came emerged from the tunnel on the wrong side of the road, it smashed into an innocent motorist in a blue Alfa Romeo and a terrifying road rage ordeal unfolded.

Police who were tailing the allegedly stolen car jumped out with guns drawn, according to 7 News.

A witness, Brylee, told 3AW that she was driving out of the city centre towards the tunnel when a blue car travelling the opposite way in approached her.

‘There must have been about six guys that got out of their cars and dragged these people out of their car.’

She explained a gun was pulled, and said there was a lot of punching and aggression.

‘I had the gun pointed at my windscreen as I was trying to reverse away.

‘These two guys were pinning one man down with a gun to his head,’ she told Tom Elliott.

Two men and one woman are expected to be interviewed later this evening in relation to the incident.
