Guy Sebastian has called out 60 Minutes for asking about his brief romance with Delta Goodrem – while his wife Jules was sitting right next to him.
The Voice judge said it was ‘odd’ that Tom Steinfort quizzed him on the ‘few dates’ he went on with Delta in 2003 after winning Australian Idol, while he was on a break with Jules.
In scenes set to air on Sunday evening, the singer, 37, looks visibly awkward as he protests: ‘It was actually the first thing I said to Jules when we got back together.’

Looking at Jules, he goes on: ‘I said, ‘Just so you know, I went on a few dates with Delta.”
The duo were doing a joint interview with Tom as part of a feature exploring Jules’ family life.
Reflecting on the awkward moment, Guy told the Daily Telegraph: ‘It was a bit odd.
‘I’m a family man and Delta is so happy in her life. Even if it’s all in jest, I don’t want to contribute to making Delta look bad. She’s been nothing but so kind and sweet to me.’

She added: ‘Sometimes when there’s even some slight (romantic) history it can be hard to be mates but there’s literally nothing. Nothing eventuated from it. I wouldn’t sit there with Jules talking about it if there was an actual thing.’
Guy previously claimed Delta pursued him for ‘a long time’ before she ‘finally caved’.
‘She romantically chased me for a very long time. After repeated rejection, I caved in, finally, for a little while. Is that the story she tells?’ he said in a segment on The Voice.
Explaining how they first met, Guy continued: ‘I met Delta at the ARIA awards 16-years ago. She was so sweet, we hit it off straight away and became good mates.’

Delta, 34, added: ‘Guy and I used to watch Harry Potter together when we were 17-years-old… [and] hold hands occasionally.’
Guy previously said Delta was his ‘hall pass’, admitting that he viewed her as ‘the hot chick from Neighbours’.
He’s now married to stylist Jules, who he wed in Sydney in 2008. They met aged 13 when they attended the same church group, but didn’t start dating until years later at university.

‘When I was at uni we started to go out and we’ve been together since, apart from a couple of brief splits,’ Guy said in an interview with Sydney Morning Herald in 2010.
‘Jules has never had another guy, never held another dude’s hand. I’m her first boyfriend, her first crush. So it’s pretty special.’
The pair had several short-lived breakups during Guy’s rise to fame but in 2007 he proposed to his childhood sweetheart after an eight-year courtship.
Marrying in Manly in 2008, the Christian couple famously waited until their wedding night to consummate their relationship and have since gone on to have two children together, Archer and Hudson.
