Gwyneth Paltrow launches Netflix series all about sex and intimacy – including touchless orgasms

Gwyneth Paltrow is tackling sex and intimacy with a side of Goop on her new Netflix series exploring sexual pleasure through touchless orgasms, Wolverine claw sex toys, and plenty of sensual caressing.

Less than two years after the launch of her first wellness-focused docuseries, The Goop Lab, she and her team are back with Sex, Love & Goop, which follows five real-life couples on their journeys to enhance their sex lives.

‘It’s one thing to be emotionally vulnerable on camera, but to be sexually vulnerable, we’ve never really seen this before,’ Paltrow, 49, says in the show’s new trailer, which dropped on Thursday.

Throughout the six-episode series, the couples work with five sexual health experts: Paltrow’s go-to intimacy coach Michaela Boehm, somatic sexologist Jaiya, tantric sex educator Amina Peterson, erotic wholeness coach Darshana Avila, and bodywork practitioner Katarina ‘Kato’ Wittich.

‘We offer a space to be sexual and not have that be a shameful thing,’ Avila explains.

The trailer shows the couples meeting with their respective coaches and the techniques that are utilized to help them achieve sexual greater pleasure — even without physical touch.

‘Orgasm doesn’t have to be slot A goes into slot B,’ Jaiya notes. ‘It could be anywhere on their body.’

Orgasm seems to be an issue for couple Erika and Damon, who are seen meeting with the somatic sexologist in the trailer.

‘His parents are wondering why he doesn’t have babies. And am I gonna have an orgasm before I have a baby? Erika asks.

Jaiya explains to the couple that there are ‘five different erotic blueprints, including ‘energetic touch,’ ‘sensual touch,’ and ‘kinky touch.’

‘Oftentimes couples’ blueprints, they’re opposites,’ she adds.

In the trailer, Erika and Damon watch in shock as Jaiya’s partner Ian Ferguson gives her a touchless orgasm.

‘S**t,’ Damon says as the expert writhes in pleasure.

Another couple, Rama and Felicitas, reveal they ‘were close to getting a divorce,’ with him admitting he ‘had blinders on’ in their marriage.

‘What they came for is very common,’ Boehm says. ‘We’re going to have to work on the sexy factor a bit.’

There are also plenty of tears in the trailer, which shows participants grappling with a myriad of emotions, including body insecurity.

The wellness guru and her team also dabbled in pleasure on The Goop Lab, which followed Goop employees as they explored energy healing, psychedelics, cold therapy, psychic mediums, and orgasms.

‘Sex, Love & Goop explores what it means to be truly intimate in a relationship: to express your deepest fears and desires and to accept those of your partners,’ Paltrow says in a statement.

‘A continuation of Goop’s mission to help our audience pursue the ineffable power of their own potential, the show is a toolkit for finding more pleasure and connection in our romantic lives. And it’s full of lessons I wish I’d learned years ago.’

Sex, Love & Goop premieres on Netflix on October 21, but this isn’t the first time  Paltrow has taken on sexual health and intimacy.

Last year, she combated vaginal shame with the launch of her $75 ‘This Smells Like My Vagina’ and ‘This Smells Like My Orgasm’ candles. In February, Goop released its $95 double-sided wand vibrator, which sold out in less than 24 hours.

And earlier this week, she announced Goop’s new female libido-boosting supplement DTF — an acronym for ‘down to f***.’

‘Everyday stress and anxiety, hormonal changes, exhaustion, age… these can impact our libido and sexual health,’ she wrote on Instagram.

‘So yes, we (with our science and research team) created a supplement that REALLY helps and, yes, we called it DTF. Because, you know, we’re @goop.’
