Gym lover takes dramatic tumble as she attempts squat exercise with a massive weight

Squat a disaster! Watch as gym lover takes dramatic tumble while attempting a risky exercise with a massive weight

A gym fanatic captured the dramatic moment she took a nasty tumble while attempting a squatting exercise which resulted in the ultimate gym fail.

Jess Power Stone, a content creator from Bristol, goes to the gym seven days a week and usually props up her camera to check her form.

However, this time one exercise she likes to do regularly took a turn for the worse after she prepared for it incorrectly.

While attempting a belt squat exercise, a lapse in judgment caused Jess to attach the chain wrongly to the weight and pull her over.

In the video, Jess is seen tentatively getting up onto a pair of large blocks as she shuffles the large weight she is attached to her belt onto them as well.

Unbeknownst to her, she has attached the chain connecting the weight to the belt incorrectly.

The huge weight almost instantly topples her over as it swings backwards and causes her to lose her balance.

She waves her arms in the air to try and regain composure, but it’s too late and she falls onto the blocks before hitting the floor.

A concerned gymgoer rushes over to her aid, but luckily find Jess was okay despite how dramatic her fall looked.

Jess said: ‘Everyone around me was worried but I thought it was hilarious.

‘I found it funnier that I managed to catch it on camera. I was with a friend and she helped detach the weight after the fall.

‘Belt squats require a different stance and centre of balance than any other squat movement, they’re one of my favourite exercises.

‘My gym doesn’t have a belt-squat machine so I’ve had to use the equipment they have.

‘I accidentally put the chain on the wrong side of the weight which caused the weight to spin and pull me backwards when I got up.’

Jess, who refers to herself as ‘your older gym sister’ turned the embarrassing moment into an empowering, albeit self-deprecating, message to others, captioning the clip: ‘If you ever get gym anxiety… think of this video’.

The gymfluencer has previously shared clips of her doing the exercise successfully, and regularly shares workout routines with her followers on TikTok and Instagram.

If done correctly, belt squats are often regarded as safer than other weighted squats by exercise experts, due to the lower risk of a bar falling on you and can be lower impact on your back.
