A hairdresser has taken a brutal swipe at customers who ‘turn up late with coffee’, have dirty hair for their appointment and constantly turn to look in the mirror.
Cosmetologist and hairdresser, Emily Pytel, decided to make a video on her ‘four icks’ online after noticing ‘everyone else was doing it’ for other industries.
Her first complaint was dirty hair.
Cosmetologist and hairstylist, Emily Pytel, decided to make a video on her four icks online after noticing ‘everyone else was doing it’
‘When a client comes to me with super dirty hair, just no,’ she said.
‘We don’t want to touch your dirty hair but it’s also not good for your colour, it doesn’t take as well,’ she said.
The second ick was having customer ‘look her in the eyes’ while she shampoos their hair from above.
‘Don’t do that, it is awkward for everybody, just close your eyes,’ she said.
But number three ‘really gets her’.
‘When you show up late but you have a coffee in your hand and don’t have one for us. We love coffee too and we need the caffeine to do your hair.’
And number four – turning your head to look at the mirror.
‘When you are in our chair and we turn our chair and the head looks back at the mirror, please don’t do that because there is a reason we ae turning your chair,’ she said.
Her fans were quick to comment with dozens shocked about the dirty hair line.
‘I was always told to get your hair colored with dirty hair,’ one woman said.
And others said their stylist had told them to come in with dirty hair before getting colour done.
But others said they had been told off for it.
‘Once my hair was filthy and I asked my stylist last time and she said day old hair is only for styling, otherwise come with it clean,’ one woman wrote.
People shouldn’t turn up to their hairdresser with dirty hair, she explained
‘I am not going to wash my hair to come in for a hair appointment,’ another woman wrote.
While others hit back at the demand for coffee.
‘I am not bringing coffee for someone I don’t know,’ one woman wrote.
‘Get your own coffee, but I get it is annoying when people are late,’ said another.
Others said they have started ‘doing their own hair’ so they won’t get judged for ‘doing something wrong’.
‘Not going to lie, this gave me more anxieties and insecurities around going to a salon, I am always worried they are judging me,’ one woman said.
One of her customers commented ‘I am guilty of the dirty hair’ which made her clarify.
‘No your hair is never that bad, I am talking super dirty hair,’ she said.
Emily often posts hairdressing secrets on her TikTok where she has 35k followers.
