Hanson could wreak havoc at federal poll

Pauline Hanson’s party One Nation has made a threat to contest every seat in Queensland at the next federal election in a move that could wreak havoc for the Turnbull government.

One Nation advisor James Ashby says the vetting process is underway as the party prepares for the possibility of an early election next year due to the dual citizenship saga affecting many MPs.

“Our intention is to run in as many seats as possible across the country and all the seats in Queensland,” Mr Ashby told The Weekend Australian.

Although the party’s performance at the Queensland election was disappointing, with a one-seat result, One Nation’s presence hurt the Liberal National Party.

The Weekend Australia’s Newspoll analysis showed the Coalition’s primary vote has gone down to 32 per cent in Queensland, which is less than what the state Liberal National Party polled in late November.

This could cost Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull up to 12 seats in Queensland, according to the analysis.
