Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding might still be five months away but the day can’t come soon enough for royal supporters.

The couple sent fans into a frenzy when they released three stunning engagement photos today, which were hailed as ‘stunning’ and ‘divinely romantic’ by delighted social media users.

One excited supporter tweeted: ‘Day is saved! Find someone who looks at you the way Harry is looking at Meghan.’ Others gushed how it made them even more excited for the royal wedding, which will be held at Windsor Castle on May 19.

‘I have never been this excited for a wedding, ever, tbh I dont even like weddings! But I am sooo excited for Harry and Meghan’s wedding! She’s ALREADY wearing couture (Ralph and Russo), her wedding dress is going to be epic [sic]!!’

An intimate black and white portrait of the newly-engaged couple embracing and deeply in love was published by Kensington Palace this morning with an endearing but more formal picture of them sat together holding hands.

Then a third portrait was released two hours later as a ‘candid photograph from the day of their portrait sittings’, with Kensington Palace saying the couple thanked well-wishers for their ‘warm and generous messages’.

The refreshingly warm photographs taken at Frogmore House, a private royal residence in the grounds of Windsor Castle, will be welcomed as a contrast to many of the more formal royal engagement portraits of the past.

Within minutes of their release, fans had taken to Twitter to share their excitement.

The pictures were taken earlier this week at Frogmore House, a private royal residence in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

The couple released the first two pictures at 11am today, before Kensington Palace put out another one at 1pm, saying: ‘Thank you so much for all of the wonderful comments following the release of Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle’s engagement photographs.
