Captioning the photo, the actor lamented getting older as he joked: ‘Ageing is a b***h.’

While Matthew cheekily referenced his now-legendary ‘glow up’ and commented: ‘Speak for yourself lad!’

The remark was in reference to his hunky transformation which led to the phrase: Longbottoming – meaning an awkward teen becoming a hunky adult in later years.

In December, Emma Watson took a trip back down memory lane nearly two decades on, as she enjoyed a festive reunion with her Harry Potter co-stars.

The actress, 29, couldn’t hide her delight as she posed for a snap alongside Tom, Matthew, Evanna Lynch and Bonnie Wright in a photo shared to Instagram.

In the snap, Emma could be seen beaming for the camera as she cosied up to her co-stars – proving the cast have stayed firm friends since filming for the franchise came to an end in 2011.

Sending Harry Potter fans into a frenzy, Emma simply added the caption: ‘Merry Christmas from us.’

Others were quick to point out that Harry Potter’s leading stars Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) were noticeably absent from the reunion.

Tom also shared similar pictures to his own Instagram account and made sure to include a Harry Potter-inspired caption with his post.

‘Greetings from my school mates,’ he wrote, before joking: ‘@mattdavelewis & I mid debate x #gryfindorVSslytherin.’

His post comes after Rupert revealed recently that Tom and Emma enjoyed a secret ‘playground romance’ while filming for the much-loved movies over the years.

Despite the pair playing onscreen enemies, Rupert claims there was a ‘spark’ between the actors in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

He told the publication: ‘There was always something. There was a little bit of a spark.

‘But we were kids. It was like any kind of playground romance.’

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline recently, Tom spoke highly of Emma and described his co-star as an ‘incredibly smart and lovely young lady.’

The two stars live close to one another and often see each other in Los Angeles, with Tom saying: ‘It’s always nice to bump into [Emma], see her at the beach or over dinner, or whatever.’

‘She’s an incredibly smart and lovely young lady, so it’s always nice to bump into each other and slightly reminisce about old times, but also about looking forward to the future.’

Tom also supported Emma’s recent declaration that she is ‘self-partnered’, instead of labelling herself as ‘single’ and said he ‘liked’ the term.

‘I like it! It’s the first I’ve heard of it, but it’s great,’ he said. ‘I’m in the same category to be honest with you, quite happily self-partnered.’
